A new box outside Creature’s Pet Shop in Madras is aimed at helping reunite lost animals with their owners. Thanks to FIX Bend, Creature’s Pet Shop, WAK-9, and Chris Monroe, a new microchip scanner has been installed for public use.
“The main reason it’s important is that we don’t have a shelter that’s operations right now,” said Will O-Daniel, owner of WAK-9 training. “We’re relying on good Samaritans to pick up stray dogs, and this gives them a local spot to check for a chip.”
